A vast and diverse city with a population of more than 700,000 people, Leeds stands on the northern side of England, in the West Yorkshire area. Leeds is close to many major roads and motorways, including the M1 and the M62, with good connections to nearby towns and cities, which include York to the northeast of Leeds, and Manchester to the southwest.

The city of Leeds features a fairly compact centre, bounded to one side by the scenic River Aire, and on the other side by a busy ring road. Leeds city centre offers a wealth of shopping opportunities and a high concentration of department stores, shopping centres and restaurants are located in the Victoria Quarter and Exchange Quarter of Leeds, together with the city's Corn Exchange district, where you will also find a plentiful supply of restaurants.

Leeds' stylish waterfront area has recently been revamped and has become a particularly trendy and lively part of the city, known for its shops, canal-side eateries and bars. To the south of central Leeds, you will find the City Train Station, while the Central Bus Station stands slightly to the east.
